After Kendrick Lamar's first two albums, wherein he examined his city and country, respectively, it only made sense that he'd turn his gaze inward. On top of being one of the most impressively rapped albums of all time, DAMN. — which one a Pulitzer, if you didn't hear — is a post-modern character study deserving of its unprecedented acclaim. Artists are complex as Lamar rarely allow such a vulnerable window into their minds to be opened.
