1xLP
Forty-three is about the age most men find contentment settling into their day to day, looking forward to vacations, and looking wistfully back at the jumpshot of their prime. After turning forty-three in September, 2Chainz gathered all his friends and recorded an album that most men half his age wouldn't have the energy (or pension) to consider. On So Help Me God! Chainz duets with contemporaries and fellas half his age, forks out exorbitant sample fees (Hall & Oates samples don't come cheap these days) and generally reminds the public why he's the best punchline manufacturer since Mitch Hedberg. You and I may never be as financially prosperous as the man formerly known as Tity Boi, but, like another great southern man once said: "It's not what you make, it's how much you spent." To those who say 'Rap is a young man's game,' we say 'Kiss the ring, young blood' in an extremely 2Chainz voice.
