Few bands are as willing to draw from the pool of classic rock influences as heavily as the War on Drugs. Their sound can best be described as if Bob Dylan fronted the E Street Band circa Born in the USA while drawing from the same book of Americana-filled imagery as Tom Petty. I Don’t Live Here Anymore shows the group travelling in the same direction as 2017’s A Deeper Understanding with frontman/auteur Adam Granduciel showcasing his production skills with the band staying just as reverb drenched and filled with tension as anything they’ve done in the past.
