The London electronic-jazz fusion supertrio has returned for another trip down the astral plane with the cosmically named Hyper-Dimensional Expansion Beam. The union of modern day saxophone colossus Shabaka Hutchings (Sons of Kemet, Shabaka and the Ancestors, seemingly every great jazz album released in the past decade) with the electronic manipulators Danalogue and Betamax (Soccer96) has made for one of the most unique bands currently going. This is music that could work at either a techno-rave and a smoky jazz club, you can casually nod your head to it, or tear up a mosh pit to it. It’s music without boundaries and some of the wildest stuff you’ll hear anywhere.
