Over the past few months we've featured no small number of #PandemicAlbums. Well, let the record (pun) state that Private Space is the first #PostPandemicAlbum we'll cover. As opposed to the introversion and intimacy of so many albums to have come out in the past year and half, Private Space instead feels like a breakout, or maybe a party, which is fitting considering the lengthy list of credits. Where Jones' first couple albums were firmly entrenched in 60's nostalgia, the third effort feels significantly more neon 70's, like it would slot in somewhere between Earth, Wind & Fire and some of George Clinton's tamer compositions. In a perfect world, this would be blaring from public speakers as we all come out of hibernation, looking for a good time.
