Perhaps more so than any other season, summer is the one that lends itself to vibes. Days at the beach, barbecues, rafting. All of these things are vibes. Vibes, however, are not always good. Atlanta singer-songwriter Faye Webster knows this better than anyone on her hazy, sun-drenched new album I Know I’m Funny haha. Webster is at turns worried, lonely, heartbroken and yes, funny. While these songs take place on warm days and are all injected with a chilled-out seventies country-rock indebted swagger, her concerns lie beyond those of a carefree summer day. Webster takes an irreverent look at her own angst on this album where she laments on her own problems in a way that is funny and never crosses over into moping. She’s just vibing here.
