Texas Sun remains one of our best selling records for the simple reason that it's just so damn likeable. Khruangbin, with their breezy, patio-ready, culturally ambiguous vibes, are extremely likeable. Leon Bridges, with his Sam Cook-lite croon and vulnerable earnestness, is extremely likeable. Texas Sun combined those attributes in a brief package that begged to be consumed on a lawn chair with a chilled drink hand. The collaborators wisely chose to execute essentially the same aesthetic for Texas Moon, the EP's accompanying second half, while subtly swapping out some of the more concrete songwriting in favour of something slightly more spiritual, ethereal. You can still crack a beer to it, though.
