You know Miles Davis did more than just play the trumpet pretty well. He was also a thespian, an actor. In 1992, a few months after his death, the Australian film Dingo was released, and contained one of his final performances caught on film. The movie follows an Average Joe as he travels the Australian outback to pay homage to his favourite jazz cat, played by Davis. The role, as we understand it, was incredibly taxing to Davis, who had never played — or for that matter even been — a nice, calm person. But in Dingo, he does. If that doesn't intrigue you, nothing will. Anyway, the OST was done by Davis and french composer/arranger Michel Legrand, and while it's not as, let's say, peculiar, as the film, it is still lovely in its own right.
