The L. Ron Hubbard of the cupboard teams up with his old friend Pharrell Williams and a murderers row of other beatsmiths to craft another album of storytellin’, boastin’ and talkin’ shit over some of the most high-end beats this side of Rick Ross circa 2010. While these beats sound luxurious, they are not maximalist by any stretch. Like a $500 Rick Owens plain white T shirt, the beats here leave a lot of blank space for Pusha to rhyme but sounds every bit as opulent as something rhymed over a full orchestra. The all-star cast here makes for another career highlight from one of this century’s most consistent MCs.
