Between all the adjectives used to describe Spiritualized (anthemic, shoegazey, orchestral), one that has probably never come up is 'country.' Spiritualized has always been closer to space than the prairies, with their swelling arrangements sounding just a little more sleek in a rocket than a carriage. But yet here we are, with one of the more spaced out rock groups in recent memory, splitting the difference and doing a Jeff Tweedy impression. It's very beautiful. Everything, really.
