Lucifer On The Sofa, Spoon's tenth album, ranks among the Texas rock groups best albums. The issue with those rankings, however, is that when a band is as consistently great as Spoon, it simply reads as their catalogue, chronologically. In 2009, Metacritic dubbed them the 'Best Overall Artist of the Decade' and they have since gotten, arguably better. That's Lebron James, Tom Brady, Marie-Philip Poulin levels of consistency, which is rare to be seen in traditional rock bands. They've navigated a radically shifting media and economic landscape to land, essentially, where they've always been: if not at the top, pretty damn near.
