Kiss Land often gets lost in the shuffle of the Weeknd's already layered career. It was his first record post Trilogy, which brought him substantial critical and cultural cachet, and the record immediately preceding the pop superstardom brought on by Beauty Behind The Madness. As well as a great piece of Canadian pop as it was coming to define itself, it's an intriguing transitional piece from an unlikely superstar.
