For longtime listeners, Born Losers will be a change of pace. The turn comes from a real life change of pace for Troy Snaterse, who's father nearly succumbed to a devastating stroke, and who's step brother passed away in the time since their last record. Contextually, the slower more deliberate pacing and introspection on Born Losers make sense. It's their heaviest record, weighed down by truer than life trials and the type of maturity that can only be fell into out of necessity. The erstwhile young men have now graduated to music wise beyond their years. It might be their best yet.
