Denzel Curry raps with like his life depends on it. Since his notably fully-formed debut Nostalgic 64, and through the four albums since, his intensity has been a double-edged trademark. At times its felt a little thick, at others it feels like he's brandishing the primordial rage of mother nature in his vocal chords. On Melt My Eyez, Curry wields that same with newfound maturity, evident in both his smouldering reservedness (relatively speaking), and the eclecticism found in his beat collection. His writing continues to tighten up, too, as he transitions farther away from spunky upstart to heady veteran. It's amazing to think that Curry has been around for almost a decade at this point, with nary a low-point to his career.
